Methodology
All help-to-buy UK data has been taken from government statistical sources. There is no equity loan scheme in NI at present, therefore only ISA data is present for these districts. All house prices were taken by the average hhouse price on Zoopla. In the case where the district as a whole could not be found on Zoopla the admininstrative centre of the district was used, these prices are highlighted in blue.
We factored in 3 columns of data into the weighted index; number of equity loans per capita, number of help to buy ISA property completions per capita and the average amount left to pay on a house after the ISA payments from the government.
The number of equity loans and ISA property completions per capita by district were taken to be the most important and therefore assigned a higher value in our calculations, while average amount left to pay was seen as slightly less important and was therefore assigned a lower number.
The overall result of our weighted index formula is the ranking which can be seen in the data.
